The Blue Skillet Family Restaurant: A Taste of Home with American and Mexican Favorites

Running errands early in the morning had me hungry and I saw this restaurant and decided to try it out. Walking inside and looking around gave me an old school diner type feel, it was pretty busy too. I was greeted by a host and I asked to sit at the bar counter. It didn't take me long to decide what I wanted. There were 3 different staff members in front of me and they were really friendly & attentive. I ordered my food and an ice tea. While I sat there watching all the staff, I felt like there was a family vibe. Everyone was working cohesively and I saw that they were helping each other out with each others customers. I like seeing that in any work setting. Speaking of family vibes, there are some regulars that must frequent this restaurant, many of the customers that had walked in while I was waiting were recognized by many of the staff. My food finally arrived, it wasn't too long of a wait. I ordered the sampler plate and my eggs came out just the way I like them, sunny side up! The food was good, no complaints. Service was friendly and I enjoyed the whole diner vibe. If you're in the neighborhood, pop in for some good food and friendly faces. NJoy!

The food is consistent, their portions are pretty big, and they are super fast at getting you your food. The staff remembers their regulars and always greet you with a smile. The environment is clean and has a nice diner vibe. Good place for a quick breakfast.

Good food nice service my only complaint is the long wait to get a table for a big family and they don't take reservations

So my son recommended this place to me, this morning my friend and I decided to give it a try. After driving 12 miles we found it right along the side of Charleston ave. It's a nice little place. Are server was named Juan. He's was a great waiter. Very pleasant and very attentive to our table. We ordered the meat lovers skillet and was happy that it was absolutely delicious. There are so many items to choose from so we will be going back a lot to try the different breakfast items and one day soon there lunch items. I highly recommend this place, so worth the drive. Can't wait to go back.

This is a great unexpected spot to eat it's located next to the closed down Kmart on E Charleston so area is questionable at times but the food is great and worth the drive. Service is always friendly and food arrived in a timely manner. The eggs were cooked perfectly, everything tasted great really other than the location they have a nice menu lots to choose from.
